stayed for the map...they claim it's the biggest one, it's set in Vice City, but not like the old one, oh no...my headcanon once said that the original map was meant to emulate the "liveliness" of the 80's Miami...but I checked out the reality...it's not made of 50% useless sand hogging the map...and I believe this new and improved map is much closer to the real-life Miami and the surrounding areas than it did before

Ah yes, the paramedic "oddjob" beach. Only thing it's good for.
I mean really, the original map has that jarring 50% sand that has nothing crazy going on or anything GTA-fun about it, it's just there to seal off the development gap...San Andreas would never attempt this on their beaches, all that precious real estate, wasted on nothing but sand and a small amount of beach goers that are far away from each other
glad this is no longer an issue.. the new map is much closer to what Miami is..more buildings, wider roads, less sand..just the way I like it
so..upon further investigation by looking at it again...I noticed that the core mechanic of stealing a car has been upsized in difficulty..so it's no longer about gratuitious automobile theft by simply pressing the triangle button or "e" to drive off...oh no, a real car thief would use tools to get past its security system first...like using a slim jim crowbar + QTE (oh yes, you're going to suffer a lot later with this)
this however isn't new...anyone who have played chinatown wars before on the DS would be presented a short minigame on hotwiring a car before driving off....and also smash the glass to escape a sinking car
I still need to dig much further based on what we got now..
but that doesn't mean I'll be hopping on right away, that would be careless of me...I would pick it up once the raging storm passes by around 4 1/2 years from today.
