This shit is no good for art websites.
Unless your main goal is to farm ad revenue from people navigating your site so they can jack off to AI generated porn, in which case you're fine. That seems to be the main goal of rule34.xxx these days.
But if you want to be an actual art website that's tolerable to exist in, then you'll want to avoid AI shit.
Because you'll very quickly become Slop Town if you start allowing it.
This shit is no good for art websites.

If the artist merely uses it as a tool for inspiration, or as a way to get very basic things done just so they can get started quicker, then I have no problem with using AI as an art tool.
My problem is when people try to use it as an "art" generator, and then post that stuff alongside art made by actual artists. Often drowning out the actual art with sheer numbers because those generated images are so quick to produce compared to art made by an actual human being.
In that case, it's directly harming actual artists.
It's already happening and it's obvious, there's no long term speculation about it.
If an artist needs an apartment interior for a comic panel background, and they ask an AI to generate some basic outlines of an interior for them to finish up and detail, then that's fine IMO. They just want the background out of the way so they can do the main artwork.
Or if they need a weird original hat for a sci-fi character but they don't want to spend all day thinking one up, it's perfectly fine for them to ask an AI to generate a bunch of hat designs. They might see one that's cool but needs some work, and then they can finish the hat design and move on with the art instead of being stuck on one detail.
If it's just a tool for small details, it's fine.
But when you drown out actual artwork with generated images, that's when I have a problem with it.

AI as an art tool is depressing. I have no issue with "AI art", but I have an issue with how it it's existence is erroding the need and existence of real art. AI art is not "there" yet, especially not when it comes to specific stuff. (Think two wrestlers doing very specific wrestling techniques from different angles). But as just a general AI creator, it has now mostly reached a point where you can use a LORA for an artist or an anime character, and the AI tool will now create a perfect replclica, often even creating a superior version of what the real artist could do.
I have commissioned a lot of art and I intend to do so in the future, but as I do so I now find myself asking... why am I comissioning an artist to draw an image that I can generate withing seconds or maybe hours with an AI tool for free? Why pay if I can get the exact thing I want, sometimes even with better art? (but in the artists style?)
Yes, I agree it is horrible that these AI have trained themselves on these artists... but they exist now. We can't unexist them...

The second part of the argument here is the ability to recognize art. How do we know for sure if the image was done with AI or not? I'm not talking about just commissions, but even uploading art here. Even AI tools trained to recognize AI art does not always manage to do so, and sometimes even claim that real art is AI. I have had art deleted here on Gelbooru that I know isn't AI...
And yet there are other pieces by artisists that CAN draw, but even their art I simply can't tell if it is AI or not... because the artists themselves could in theory create a LORA of their own art. and then use that LORA and generate images in their own style. Since the AI detection tools are not actually reliable, this will always raise an issue. Is it AI or not? And if you have written in comment sections or sent an artist a question of their art is AI... they will either ignore you, block you or threaten to report you for harassment.... so it isn't as if we can simply ask them and then expect an answer.
Pixiv itself does not even monitor their uploads properly... nor is there actually a way to report AI images that isn't tagged as such over there.

As for Deviantart... that site was ALWAYS slop. The staff over there literally allow people to take art from Pixiv/other sites, rapaint the legs of art of some anime girl and repost it as "their art".

Newgrounds has an art portal that doesn't allow AI, has a mix of new and experienced artists, and is usually way less gross/weird compared to the DeviantArt fetish stereotypes. (The artists post the work themselves too.)
