I installed 0.1.10 and it works fine besides the thing that whenever i try to upload a picture it gives me this error: An error occured. The image could not be added because it already exists or it is corrupted.
How do i fix this?
And why are the only Administrative Tasks i can do is reported posts and comments, i see much more in the /admin folder but cant call 'em up.

aight, i put write permissions on the tmp directory and i can upload pictures now. This was not in the readme, it only says to put write on images and thumbnails.
I'm also getting the same errors as ch405, changed my php.ini and that fixed it. Altough i'd feel better if the code or mysql was fixed instead of hiding the errors. Does this not consume unnecessary performance? Since the code in it calls upon empty or non existing tables? unfortunately i do not have the skills to fix it or i would have done it.
One error is important to me, when i go into the admin section, the reported comments do not work. I get: Warning: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /admin/reported_comments.php on line 36
Line 36 in reported_comments.php is: $row = mysql_fetch_assoc($result);
Oh and btw, the reason im trying out gelbooru source is because i obvoiusly wanna start a imgboard but also im testing it vs shimmie.
I do think that gelbooru source is more buggy and has more errors while not having all the features shimmie has, but the performance and speed is awesome compared to shimmie.
lozertuser said: Chances at this time are very slim of 0.2.0 coming out for public use. For this version you require root access to the server for the installation of other programs that are required to run it.
I don't get how this is a reason for not releasing code. I'm using plenty of Free/Open Source software that requires root access every single day. It's not like running the software somewhere else will require root access to /your/ server...
Besides, Virtual servers with full root access can be had for maybe 15 bucks a month, sometimes less.
In the end, of course, it is your decision to release or not release the sources, but for the sake of the community it might be good to state the real reason for the non-release, or at least tell us that reason is confidential or something. This "requires root access" thing is a phony pretext at best.

Pretext? No, I was just mentioning that you would need root access to run a Java process (?). Just stated that 0.2.0 being released has a slim chance of happening. :)

Okay, now I'm confused. Just what /are/ your plans with the 0.2.x line? Are you going to keep it behind closed doors indefinitely? Why?
