That's the look of a broken rape victim. It's empty, and after a bunch of abuse there's just no more tears left. She's just calm and broken. Basically, she has not spirit left.

You have obviously been attending your dime store psychology lessons lately, You clearly miss the underlying defiance and spite in her expression. I find it something of a shame that the abuse in this series of images is all people tend notice, whether they are attracted to it or repulsed by it. The most evocative elements that the artist has managed to capture are the heroines emotive and endearing portrayal. Though I can't fully reconcile the intense hatred I have for violence toward women, the art and the depiction of the girls perseverance under these horrible conditions place the art and by proxy the artist in my high regards.
