SquareEnix cares for its NA fanbase by butchering to death the ONE game that appealed to North American audiences (but only because this is the closest Final Fantasy to resemble a Marvel Comic than any of the others.)
With that in mind I’m pretty safe betting that Final Fantasy VIII and IX won’t see remastering/remakes. Well, how interesting since it’s clear which Final Fantasy THEY preferred in Kingdom Hearts…
Truth is I wish that the Enix part of Square would split up and return to doing their Valkyrie Profiles and Star Oceans. And allow Square to remember what it was known for before its merger….
