I would play that. they are supposed to be different people in each game so I think it could be possible for one of the "link descendants" to be born a girl instead. fans would probably rage.......

A good chunk of the fanbase requested it. Most would be happy with the option to choose one or the other. Personally, I would love it if choosing girl swapped the sexes for all characters in the game. Xelda became a Boy, the king is now the queen.

I don't know about the entire cast being gender swapped, but playing as a female Link I can get behind.

Because the entire reason he's named Link in the first place is because he's the LINK between you the player and the world of Hyrule/whatever that you're exploring. The option of a female Link could be a reflection that the person LINKED and exploring this world is a female.

It's a logical conclusion that I'm honestly a little surprised has yet to happen. Aside from story reasons in some games, I can see it being completely plausible going forward.

I think having Gender-Select Options would be amazing, keeping the default story and characters. Allowing for potential lesbian/gay relationships, especially if added in a romance mechanic, if not as explored as Elder Scrolls.

If you want a female option in the Zelda franchise, then just use Zelda. Link should always remain male.
