Canon doesn't keep a series from going retarded. Putting out retarded content makes it retarded.

Do you people even know the fuck you're talking about? the words "canon" and "non-canon" literally mean if an event is part of the main plot line or not. that's all this is. if something is "canon" then it means that the said event is going to be acknowledged by the characters and will influence the future direction of the plot and be the basis of future events which is written by toriyama.
When something is "non-canon", it means that it is an alternate story taking place in an alternate reality. it's an alternate continuation/route of the canon plot line which is not going to have any mentions or influences in the main plot line. for example, DB GT, DB Heroes and the DB Z movies are all non-canon. meaning that they are alternate stories and have had no influence on toriyama's main plot line.
So the fact that broly is entering the canon verse is a really good thing, not only that, but he certainly will have more character depth than his previously takao koyama character script, the guy who wrote the "original" broly's character. if you like the old broly then that's fine and all. but a new, different, deeper and a lot stronger broly is becoming a canon DB character now. so you can all stop your whining because that sure will change absolutely nothing.
