Known as moe anthropomorphism. Giving moe characteristics to non-human objects, beings and such.

This is thing such as the OS-tan girls (just search os-tan) and also mecha musum, or "Mech Girls". Basically giving a girl certain characteristics of a military weapon.

This female character is an anthopomorphized A-10 Thunderbolt (aka Warthog) Close Air Support weapons system. In this case, the female has been endowed with the characteristic jet engines and tail fins on her head, as well as being given a large penis. The penis represents the GAU-8, the extremely large minigun that is the primary weapon of the A-10 Thunderbolt (seen at the nose of the plane).

Warthogs kick @$$! I heard they were take out of service... or was it just that they're not making any more.

Man they ain't been making Warthogs for a while (not since 1984 I think), but that doesn't mean they're leaving service. Quite the opposite is true in this case!

The A-10 is a ridiculously rugged and efficient design which achieves exactly what it needs to - get close, unleash hell, get away. The technologies and designs to meet this means are simple, but quite innovative. Apparently simple things like putting the engines on the tail so that the wings protect them during approach were the hallmarks of the design.

In addition to that, it was easy to maintain and could easily take a hell of a beating - unlike most other US jets.

So the US Military saw that the design was sound and decided to keep it (rather than spend dozens of billions on a completely new design), opting to just upgrade it with time.

Replacing the old targeting systems with newer digital ones and a few other fixes kept it up to date with the Air Force of the 90s, and now they're going to improve them even more, upgrading the engines and even the wings (the wings are placed so that on approach they shield the engines from gunfire - higher quality wings provide better protection).

Last I heard, the A-10'll be in service until 2028.

I love the A-10. We have an Airbase that I drive by every day and on occasion you'll see the ugly bastards flying around. Any plane that can take as much damage as these ones can and keep flying, not to mention how slow they can fly without out falling out of the air, is increadible.

hey dont call them bastards, they are the non-glorified angels of our troops, and awsome, wheres this base at?, plus the answer is teh longated design and the long flat wings provide a lot of lift so it can fly slow and put more down range without having to make another flyby, and somebody chop of her dick and place a REAL Gau-8 Avenger in her hands, and take off her top. ^_^

The A-10 is not a plane. It's a gun with wings.

And yeah, out of production doesn't mean out of service. Look at the B-52.

I used to fly the A-10 out of Bagrom AFB Afghanastan and boy do the troops love it when we would show up on station because it would scare the hell out of the enemy...
