Man, it’s like both of them represent a side of Bardock. The good natured father sending his son from a doomed planet (boy does that sound familiar), and the tragic last stand of a flawed character from a not so noble race. Unfortunately you can’t have it both ways unless you consider them to be alternate universes/timelines.
