Man, they could not keep some characters’ hair a consistent colour could they? And yet Toriyama thought that Lunch’s hair constantly changing colour would be confusing to the poor audience.

Her hair was changed in this film intentionally to be faithful to much of Toriyama's art of her at the time(primarily depicting her with purple hair).
He was all over the place color scene wise back then, the anime staff were actually a lot more consistent.

Apparently just about the only thing he kept consistent color wise with her was that Bulma and Trunks had the same hair color, the anime staff kinda dropped the ball with that until recently.

Funny thing is this movie came out after Z finished.
They actually expanded the the fanservice in the movie, this shot lingers way longer than in Dragonball.
