Weird. I thought the long beak was actually a two-part thing and was their mouth. I didn't realize their mouth was so far back.

The Mouth area is all wrong actually. This is more an artist interpretation, but it's all wrong in that area.

The body would also be a little more elongated and the carapace markings are much more colourful. It's also missing the small feeding palps that are near the mouth, though rarely noticed in the movie.

They are more advanced than this in the novel. They actually use guns, take prisoners (not always for brain-sucking), and make alliances with other races (the Skinnies).
