ITS NOT WRONG, that color pattern was of the RX-78-1 the Red White pattern was pushed by Sunrise to attract attention like the other super robot anime at that time of the making of the series.

It's an action shot, the perspective is off because the heads going back, the chests rolling forward and the right hand is about to shove a beam saber up some zaku's ass.
