This picture does look like it has an asian touch to it.

Of course, Avatar is animated by a Korean animation studio, DR Movie. It's also notable for borrowing extensively from Asian art and mythology to create its universe. The only reason this show isn't called an anime is because it's american.

Cartoons like Batman and Animaniacs were/are also animated overseas...your point is flawed.

Also this picture has so many artifacts I'm surprised it's not been deleted yet.

@anon... cartoons like batman and animaniacs don't share Avatar's distinctly Asian influence and style. Supporting Cephalon's point, this would almost certainly be considered anime except for its country of origin being America. Even the eyes are drawn in very typical anime style.

"Stop fighting Katara, and I'll let you finish taking off your cloths and I'll show you a good timeby having sex with you and I'll lick your pussy and suck on your tits, and I'll lick and kiss you belly and bellybutton, and kiss you on the lips, then I'll make you feel great and then I'll you to heaven." says Azula. "Okay, I'll do it. As I can do the same thing to you." Katara said.

I've even seen it appear listed as anime on torrent sites and sometimes even in the anime sections of some video stores.

99% of Black Lagoon and 100% of Hellsing take place outside of Japan and borrow almost everything from outside cultures that are mostly non-Asian and the characters aren't overwhemingly Asian exclusive in design, does that mean those shows should *not* be considered anime?

I'll never understand the strange, elitist mindset of anime fans. Avatar is not 'anime' (in the elitist sense, if we're taking anime to mean 'cartoon', then sure), it's a western cartoon animated in an Asian studio (with clear US animation influence - which goes conveniently ignored) with heavy nods to Asian culture.

Yes but american laws are different than those of japanese law. If we start accepting American cartoons, we must abide by American law regarding them.
