| Description: | A tag being either type, Deprecated and Approval Pending (requested in a previous ticket), means that it is something that needs some sort of action from staff. Currently, however, it's difficult to isolate these tags to work on them. So, I'm proposing a queue for each one that can be worked through by staff.
The queue for Approval Pending tags would be really simple. It would just be a list of tags currently set to Approval Pending, sorted by the time they were created, with a current count and a link to the the appropriate page=tags&s=edit&tag= page to edit the tag. This would allow us to much more quickly and easily address new tags that users have created.
The queue for Deprecated tags would be a bit more complicated. This queue would be pretty useless if it was filled with tags that the Tags table says exist, but which Solr doesn't return any actual results for. It would need to list out the current Deprecated tags, sorted by current count, but it needs a way to only show ones that actually have active posts that will show up in a search. I don't know whether it would be better to actually query Solr for all of the tags every time the queue gets loaded, or to simply create a button on this page that would allow staff to update the value in the Tags table to the number Solr currently returns. |
