This is not actually the feature implementation you are requesting, but until it is implemented, you can use the URLs to get an decent estimate.
In each results page, the parameter at the end of the URL is "&pid=X," where X is the beginning of the range of results being displayed on that page. By adding 24 (the number of results displayed in addition to the first on the page) to the value of X, you can get the value of Y. To estimate the value of Z, hover the cursor over the ">>" (Last Page) link. The URL displayed at the bottom of your browser contains the number of the first result on the last page; this number is consequently the total number of results rounded down to the nearest 25.
It obviously would be much more convenient to have the system simply tell you the number of results, but this method has been working for me up to now. |
