Summary: | Changing how alias requests work |
Description: | This would require fixing the alias system for starters, of course. As of right now, any idort can just go into the "alias" tab and request something completely anonymously without any genuine discussion as to why it's a valid request. As can be evidenced by the amount of alias requests currently there which are utterly incorrect and would do untold amounts of damage to the site if they were approved, this is not a good way of doing it. Danbooru, on the other hand, does has a good way of doing it. Their users have to go into the forum and make an alias request there using a basic form of: (tag to be aliased) -> (the tag it will be aliased to) (Reason why the tag should be aliased) And then users and mods will decide if it's worth doing or if it should be shot down. We could really benefit from this, if only for the fact it'd mean we're aliasing things again. |
