It crosses over Blazblue, Persona 4, Under Night in-Birth, RWBY, Arcana Heart, Senran Kagura, and Akatsuki Blitzkampf. For the first three games, this game reuses the sprites from previous entries in their respective franchises. All of the voice actors, both English and Japanese, reprise their roles as their respective characters. The game also recycles music from all of the represented franchises. The main composer for each have also composed their own take on the game's main theme, Crossing Fate. It is notably the first time RWBY characters have been made playable outside of Rooster Teeth-developed works. Mori Toshimichi, the creator of Blazblue, and Monty Oum, the creator of RWBY, both mutually admired each other's work with the former wanting to make a game featuring the RWBY characters and the latter being influenced by Blazblue. Although Monty unfortunately did not live to see this game, this marks the first time that Arc Systems Works and Rooster Teeth collaborated.
