She usually will have the same hairstyle and look as her fellow Babymetal band member Mizuno_Yui due to the duo acting as 'twins' to contrast lead singer Nakamoto_Suzuka. She started her professional career as a child working at Amuse Inc. and joined Sakura_Gakuin in 2010, making her one of the original members of the group. She was initially placed in the Baton club, which became the group Twinklestars, but was then placed into the Heavy Music club alongside Mizuno and Nakamoto and this club evolved into the idol/metal band Babymetal, which eclipsed Sakura Gakuin in popularity. For a few years, Kikuchi had two simultaneous gigs, her work in Sakura Gakuin and Babymetal. In 2015, she graduated from Sakura Gakuin and became part of Babymetal full time. In Babymetal, her stage persona is Moa-metal, and she, along with Mizuno, perform much of the dancing and backup vocals. Kikuchi was an idol singer fan from a young age and her favorite group is C-ute. Her favorite anime is Love_Live!_School_Idol_Project, which is also idol-related. Prior to Babymetal, she, along with her bandmates, wasn't familiar with metal music, but after familiarizing herself with the genre, she cites Bring Me the Horizon, Metallica, and Limp Bizkit as her favorite bands. She is also well known for her love of food and has stated that one of her favorite aspects of touring is getting to eat food from many different places. When performing on stage, she is known for intentionally making funny faces to her fellow performers when her back is to the camera. This will often lead to a brief funny face duel between Kikuchi and her bandmates.
