Now Viewing: dio_brandoTag type: Character One of the main villains in the Jojo saga and the most well known. His name is derived from actor Marlon Brando and singer Ronnie James Dio. He appears in Phantom Blood (Part 1), Stardust Crusaders (Part 3), and Stone Ocean (Part 6). He is a blonde-haired muscular vampire. His conflict with Jonathan Joestar in Part 1 kicks off a conflict with the Joestar family spanning generations. He is formidable because of his powers, charisma, and intelligence. He is an extremely arrogant and self-absorbed man who often refers himself in the first person and third person in the same sentence. He cares little for anyone else except for Enrico Pucci, one of the few people he genuinely respects. He is also especially cruel, often nonchalantly making use of innocent civilians and brutally disposing of them once they've fulfilled their purpose. His stand is The World. His appearance in Part 3 is how he's most commonly depicted. He wears a yellow jacket and pants and a black shirt. Both his Part 1 and Part 3 appearance are playable characters in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure All Star Battle and have different sets of powers. He is the only villain besides Kira to have two personas as playable characters in the game. The enemy Zephyr from Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow is based off of Dio and Aria of Sorrow features a confrontation with an enemy at a clock tower that is a homage to the climactic battle of Stardust Crusaders. Although she is nothing like him in personality or appearance, Izayoi Sakuya of Touhou fame has some similar powers as Dio Brando, a fact that fans have noticed and poked fun at. During an exchange of dialogue with Kirisame Marisa, Remilia Scarlet also quotes a line Dio spoke to Will Zeppelli in Phantom Blood.
