In the original game, he is a silent protagonist so his characterization varies depending on what choices the player makes, but his fellow investigation team members and Nanako look up to him and he does not seem to have any serious personal issues unlike his teammates and the various Social Links. In the original game, the player can give him whatever name s/he wants. However, Narukami Yuu seems to be his canon name according to the anime adaptation and Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena. He also talks and the player is privy to his thoughts in the game. In the anime, he is portrayed as a quiet, stoic, and kind young man who helps out his friends and the other residents of Inaba whenever they need it. He also has a tendency to make goofy comments with a perfectly straight face, making it hard to tell if he's joking or is just very eccentric or both. He is also very good at gaining female attention, likely inspired by the fact that he can romance more than one girl without punishment in the original game. He can use multiple Personas, but he starts the game with Izanagi. He is also known as Seta Souji in the manga adaptation. He is voiced by Namikawa_Daisuke.
