She is very different from the other members of the Gurren Brigade as she is a princess who did not come from a tribal communities fighting to survive like they did. Since she is somewhat out of place, she often does not understand things that others take for granted and they are initially somewhat suspicious of her. Nevertheless, her genuine compassion, bravery, and charm eventually win the rest of them over. She meets Simon during the lowest point in his life and becomes a source of inspiration for him. During this period, Nia often encourages the despondent boy even though everyone else, especially himself, lacks faith in him, and the two of them develop romantic feelings for each other. Nia is also quite brave and determined in her own way, and never panics even when placed in mortal danger because she has faith in Simon and the Gurren Brigade. While she generally stays out of combat, she is physically also much stronger than she appears to be. She is voiced by Fukui_Yukari.
