The North American localization shortens the title to Persona 4 Arena. 2D Fighting game sequel to the Persona series created by Arc System Works and directed by Wada Kazuhisa and the first Shin Megami Tensei fighting game. Character designs are done by Soejima_Shigenori. It was released in arcades in 2012. It is a direct sequel to Persona 4 and incorporates elements of the larger Persona mythos, tying some of the Persona games together. Alongside the main characters of Persona 4, the game includes a few cast members of Persona 3. The original arcade release did not have much story, but the home console release creates an extended story mode that continues the Persona story. It features music composed by Meguro Shoji and remixes of various Persona 4 songs. It has been adapted into a manga by Aiyah-ball. It has been three months since the end of Persona 4 and Kuma suddenly appears wearing a cape and a hat on the Midnight Channel announcing a P-1 Grand Prix tournament to find the strongest Persona user in the world. The Persona 4 heroes return to the Midnight Channel to investigate their friend's strange behavior. At the same time, Aigis, Kirijo Mitsuru, and Sanada Akihiro head into the channel as well looking for a stolen item from the Kirijo Group. Both groups soon learn that the tournament was not just started solely to see who is the strongest. . . The game incorporates Labrys (who first appeared in a Persona 3 Drama CD) into the larger Persona narrative. The game had the honor of being featured at the EVO 2013 tourney. It has also been adapted into a stage play.
