He is Dante and Vergil's father and is legendary in the Devil May Cry universe because he rebelled against other demons and Mundus and successfully trounced them in combat. For these reasons, he is revered by almost all of the good guys and hated by Mundus. He married a regular human woman named Eva. His ultimate fate is unknown as he has yet to appear in the main storyline and he was absent when Eva was killed. It is unclear if he's still alive, but at the very least lived a long life and his many adventures play a role in the series' backstory. However, he is playable as a skin for Dante in Devil May Cry 3 and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3. He is also playable in the original Devil May Cry. According to Nevan, he was quite a handsome man and she believes Dante to be just like his father in that respect. He specializes in using a broadsword and is also able to go Devil Trigger just like his sons.
