An international fast_food chain that originated in the United_States and was founded in 1940 by the late McDonald brothers, Richard and Maurice. Later expanded significantly, both domestically in the United States, and internationally, under the directorship of Ray Kroc. This tag is for images relating to the McDonald's brand.

The first McDonald's restaurant in Japan opened in 1971.

It has created a series of mascots to appeal to children. The most well known being the red haired clown Ronald_McDonald who has also been featured in Japanese commercials and is often a source of video parodies.

McDonald's also tends to appear in anime, but usually in a modified form; its name and logo are often slightly altered but it is still clear which restaurant it's supposed to be.
