Now Viewing: cl_(2ne1)Tag type: Character 이채린 A popular Korean hip hop artist who's most well known for being the leader and the most prominent member of 2NE1. 2NE1, and especially CL herself, is notably for having a more aggressive and edgier musical style and image than most Korean female groups, thanks to the stronger hip hop influence on their music. She was born on February 26, 1991. Her full name is Lee Chae-rin. Although she was born in South Korea, she spent most of her childhood in international schools in France and Japan, mixing with many people from other countries. Thanks to these experiences, she can speak English quite well and has performed songs in both Korean and English and has even crossed over to America to perform as a solo artist. She is notably the first Korean artist to have an American tour, called the Hello Bitches Tour. She cites popular female artists Madonna, Lil Kim, and Lauryn Hill as her musical inspirations as well as the rock band Queen and Korean hip hop artist Teddy Park who also composed much of 2NE1's output.
