Now Viewing: contra_rebirthTag type: Copyright A fast paced 2d 2009 run and gun action game. Like Gradius Rebirth, it was released for the Nintendo Wii on the Wiiware. The game is set in the same year as the fist Contra game, 2633, and involves Bill and his fellow heroes going back in time to 1973 to stop the villains who have deliberately chosen this date because Earth's forces were weaker at the time. The game consists of five action packed and fast paced levels, but the true final boss can only be accessed by playing at a difficulty above Easy. The game is intentionally designed to be like early 2D Contra games and the game's soundtrack consists of remixes of famous Contra tunes. The game also has a special Nightmare difficulty which is the hardest difficulty in the game and changes the game so that a bullet that can kill the player comes out of every enemy that is gunned down. Since the game has a lot of enemies rushing the player(s) at once, the levels can get very chaotic due to this addition.
