Now Viewing: dead_fantasyTag type: Copyright Popular Crossover CG action series created single-handedly by Monty_Oum and his second major successful animation after Haloid. The series premiered on October 2007 and is still ongoing. It can be viewed online for free but after the fifth episode, the series was more or less put on an indefinite hiatus due to Monty being preoccupied with other works. However, he released short previews of upcoming episodes and expressed a desire to return to Dead Fantasy one day, but unfortunately, he never got a chance to due to his untimely death on February 1, 2015. The series also incorporates homages to fighting games, action anime, and the Final Fantasy series itself. While the characters use moves and techniques taken from the original source, many of them have been given new abilities by Monty, making some characters more powerful than they were in their canon series, to make the fights more interesting. It pits the Final_Fantasy + Kingdom_Hearts characters against the Dead_or_alive + Ninja_Gaiden characters in a series of over the top battles. Although there is an ongoing storyline, the characters do not talk outside of battle cries and grunts. Some of the Final Fantasy characters were not voiced in their original games, so their voice samples are taken from other sources. For example, Tifa's voice in this series is actually Lisa Hamilton's. The music is also taken from other sources and Monty choreographs the fights so that they match up with the music.
