Gough is a member of Gwyn's Four Knights, along with Artorias_the_Abysswalker, Dragon_Slayer_Ornstein and Lord's_Blade_Ciaran. Gough is a giant skillful in archery, who wields a greatbow that he uses to slay dragons. He also creates carvings that talk when thrown at the floor. As the locals distrust him and dismiss him as a brutish giant, they cover his helmet's visor with resin, which makes him believe that he's blind. However, his blindness does not hinder his archery as he lands a perfect shot onto one of Black Dragon Kalameet's wings. Should the Chosen_Undead defeats Kalameet, he gives the Chosen Undead his greatbow as a token of gratitude.
