She is an aspiring actress who is participating in an audition to play the female lead in an upcoming romance film. Unlike her peers who are excited to participate since they will be able to kiss the handsome lead actor of the film, Etsuko is only participating so that she can meet her long lost father Shibata Yoichi who is the director of the film and is unaware that Etsuko is his daughter. Etsuko is a friendly and gentle girl who is the only one of the actresses who gets along with and bonds with Ryou. Although she really wants to meet her father, she gets shy when he is nearby. Ryou helps her get closer to her father. She is one of the few girls Ryou does not try to pursue even after she reveals she is quite beautiful when she takes off her glasses and puts on a swimsuit.
