Asuka_(KoF) and Shinzaki Maria are good friends of Asamiya_Athena who study in the same school as her. They are learning how to master the psycho power as well. Both Asuka and Shinzaki Maria are character edits of Asamiya Athena.

Both Asuka_(KoF) and Shinzaki Maria started as non-canon characters, since their first appearance was in The_King_of_Fighters_2002, a dream match. But, like Kusanagi_(clone)/Kusanagi_(KoF), they were made canon when they appeared in The_King_of_Fighters_2003.
