She is most well known for playing Hirasawa Yui in K-ON!; the show's success greatly boosted her voice acting and singing career. She, along with her fellow seiyuus, was awarded Best Musical Performance at the 4th Seiyuu Awards for her performance on K-ON!'s mini-album Houkago Tea Time. She also placed first in 2009 Animage's Anime Grand Prix awards for Best Voice Actor. She is good friends with fellow seiyuu Itou Kanae and the two of them have worked on quite a few anime together, starting with Shugo Chara!
