Now Viewing: jack_krauserTag type: Character An American muscular military man who wears a beret. He is a minor villain in the Resident Evil series and debuted in Resident Evil 4. He was Leon's former partner and friend who was thought to have died in a crash. He was a soldier who had experienced combat so many times that he feels he can no longer function in society. After his left arm was irreparably damaged during Operation Javier and preventing him from seeing further combat, he fell into despair because he predicted correctly that the US government will see him as useless and fire him. He grew envious of those who have been infected with viruses and the powers they gained from them, particularly Manuela. He becomes obsessed with these viruses and is seduced by the power they offer; believing that they will prevent him from becoming useless and free him from others' control. Krauser kept this internal turmoil to himself so Leon was completely unaware of this, believing Krauser to be a competent, fearless, and trustworthy partner so he was shocked when he encountered Krauser for the first time in Resident Evil 4. In the game Darkside Chronicles, Krauser's inner thoughts are only revealed in a special unlockable mode that retells the climactic moments of Operation Javier from his perspective. He decides to team up with Albert Wesker who 'cured' his left arm and gave him superhuman powers. In Resident Evil 4, he is also working with Ada Wong, but he despises her and is greatly suspicious of her. Although he is a supporting character in Resident Evil 4, he became the most popular of the villains and bosses that Leon faced in that game and Darkside Chronicles details his backstory, and is also a playable character, in one section of the game Operation Javier. He also appears in Resident Evil: Mercenaries 3D. He is voiced by Jim_Ward.
