It was adapted into anime on January 11, 2011 and lasted until March 30, 2011. The second season titled Kore wa Zombie Desu Ka? of the Dead began on April 5, 2012 and lasted until June 7, 2012. The anime is directed by Kanasaki Takaomi and written by Uezu Makoto. Music is composed by Kakijima Shinji. The title translates to Is This a Zombie? Aikawa Ayumu was just a regular teenage boy until the day he was killed by a serial killer and then brought back from the dead by necromancer Eucliwood Hellscythe, a strange and quiet girl he had met earlier the night he was killed. Ayumu is now a zombie, albeit one that is virtually indistinguishable from a human except that he can't stay in the sun too long and he is now able to survive injuries that would be fatal for a normal human. Eucliwood, often referred to as Eu, also decides to live at his house. Ayumu's life gets even crazier when he encounters a Masou Shojo named Haruna battling a monster in a cemetery. After the battle, Haruna tries to erase Ayumu's memories, but Ayumu inadvertently discovers one of his new powers in the process. He is able to absorb magic and he ends up absorbing Haruna's magic. Haruna makes Ayumu take her place as a Masou Shoujo who battles monsters known as Megalos. Taking her place also includes dressing in a frilly magical girl outfit and wielding a chainsaw in combat. Haruna also decides to live in Ayumu's house as well. For Ayumu, this is only the beginning of the supernatural shenanigans he has to deal with as he protects people from the Megalos and takes care of the girls in his house. While the series does have a lot of conventional fan service, it is also one of the few series to have a lot of panty shots (though often done for comedic value) from a male character due to Ayumu being forced to wear Haruna's frilly Masou Shoujo outfit.
