Now Viewing: nakamoto_suzukaTag type: Character 中元 すず香 A female Japanese singer/model born on December 20, 1997. She is dark-haired girl who usually ties her long hair into a ponytail. She has prominent ears and is the tallest member of Babymetal. She began her professional career as a child in 2002 when she won the Grand Prix in the Image Girl Contest for Jewel Drop, a toy cosmetic, which led to her starring in a series of Jewel Drop commercials. In 2006, she enrolled in Actor's School Hiroshima where she studied alongside two of her future collaborators, Sugimoto Mariri (Sakura Gakuin), and Sayashi Riho (Babymetal substitute 3rd member). Nakamoto was then signed to the agency Amuse Inc. in 2007. She was put into a trio group called Karen Girls in 2008, who were assembled to sing songs for the anime Zettai Karen Children. Her time in this group caught the attention of producer Kobayashi Kei who was inspired to form an idol group that would have Nakamoto as the lead singer. After the group disbanded, she became one of the original members of the school-themed idol group Sakura_Gakuin. During her time there, she was put into the Heavy Music club alongside Mizuno Yui and Kikuchi Moa, part of Kobayashi's plan to make the idol group centered around Nakamoto. This Heavy Music club eventually evolved into the idol/metal group Babymetal, which became so popular that it eclipsed Sakura Gakuin and made the three girls the most famous members of Sakura Gakuin. Nakamoto stayed with Sakura Gakuin until 2013 when she graduated from the group and continued her singing career as the lead singer of Babymetal, the most famous aspect of her career. As a member of Babymetal, she adopts a stage persona called Su-metal. On stage, she is more serious and is the primary vocalist. As part of the group's style, she will often switch between J-pop idol style singing and metal screams. When she isn't performing she's more relaxed in demeanor. Due to the group's large international fanbase, she began studying English and became skilled enough to do all-English interviews and singing entire songs in English. She is the younger sister of Nakamoto Himeka who was an idol herself in the group Nogizaka46. The two had collaborated before as the duo Tween.
