The character is tagged as predator The film series typically centers around a group of tough human warriors (each film has a different set of protagonists) who wind up catching the attention of the eponymous alien hunter. The Predator, impressed by the combat prowess the main characters display, decides that they are worthy of being its prey. The Predator then proceeds to demonstrate its superior combat and hunting skills and technological capabilities as it efficiently hunts down the main characters while the humans struggle to defeat their new otherworldly foe. The original 1987 film, starring Arnold_Schwarzenegger, is the most well-known entry in the franchise. It is also notable for being one of the few Arnie action films where Arnie is less of a one man army. While his character, Dutch Schaffer, is still a tough soldier, he is pitted against a far more deadly enemy that easily destroys his team. The film is also famous for its macho dialogue, much of which is frequently quoted. The film series is often considered to be rival/companion series to Alien and both film franchises were produced by Twentieth Century Fox. Predator 2 featured a short scene where a Xenomorph's skull can be spotted in the Predator's collection. The two series have a spin-off/crossover series titled Alien vs Predator, which began as a comic and has been very successful with multiple video game and film adaptations. Capcom also created a 2d beat em up game based on Alien vs Predator and it features 2 playable Predator and 2 playable human characters. Unlike Alien, Predator features a different group of protagonists in each entry. The Predator is also a playable character in Mortal Kombat X, his first fighting game appearance.
