It was founded by Burnie Burns, Matt Hullum, Geoff Ramsey, Jason Saldana, Gus Sorola, and Joel Heyman, all of whom were involved in their flagship series Red_Vs._Blue. At the time of the the show's debut, the studio only consisted of the aforementioned small group of close friends, but as Red vs Blue grew in popularity and scope, so did the company. Rooster Teeth became an online focused multimedia company whose content includes video game playthrough series (Achievement Hunter), comedic sketches, live-action films (Lazer Team), and non-machinma animation, the most famous of which is RWBY. Said show, which was heavily influenced and is considered by its creator Monty Oum to be an anime, was their first major success in East Asia.
