Now Viewing: sagara_sousukeTag type: Character The hero of Full Metal Panic! He is a dark skinned teen boy with a cross shaped scar on his face. He is a serious and focused soldier and mecha pilot, having been trained from childhood in the art of war. Unlike his peers at school, he grew up in Helmajistan as an orphan and a child soldier. This makes it difficult for him to adjust to civilian life in Japan where his behavior comes off to others as paranoid and eccentric. He has a very pragmatic way of viewing the world, which is useful on the battlefield, but does not work nearly as well in civilian life. Despite these setbacks, he is able to make friends with the other students and many of his female classmates are attracted to his good looks, including Chidori Kaname who he develops a serious romantic relationship with. He is also chaste and tends to not understand things pertaining to sex nor does he know how to talk to girls. He resembles Gundam Wing's Heero Yuy in appearance and in personality and the two even meet in Super Robot Wars. Sousuke's older archenemy Gauron, who met Sousuke when Sousuke was still a child, has a psychotic obsession with Sousuke and fantasizes about doing violent and sexual things to Sousuke. Sousuke, of course, does not reciprocate the feeling and hates the man. Series creator Gatoh Shoji has poked fun at Gauron's homoerotic obsession with Sousuke and the anime Lucky Star, which Gatoh wrote a few episodes for, has a scene where Kagami stumbles upon a hentai doujin featuring Sousuke and Gauron.
