She has been voice acting ever since she was in her teens, debuting in the 1993 OVA Little Twins. She is known for frequently working with composer Kanno Yoko. In the first annual Seiyuu Awards, she won "Best Leading Performance" for her portrayal of Fujioka Haruhi from Ouran High School Host Club and Best Musical Performance for her song "Loop," Tsubasa Chronicle's ED. She is married to fellow seiyuu Suzumura Kenichi who was also in Ouran High School Host Club, playing Otari Kyouya.
