She is the personification of the Imperial_Japanese_Navy's escort aircraft_carrier Taiyou from the 1940s. In the game, Taiyou is the remodel version of Kasuga_Maru_(Kantai_Collection), implemented on 2017-5-2 as a reward for the Spring Event. She is drawn by Shibafu (しばふ) [1]. The aircraft carrier Taiyou was originally built as Kasuga Maru (春日丸), the last of three Nitta Maru class of passenger-cargo liners built in Japan during the late 1930s. The Kasuga Maru was requisitioned by the Imperial Japanese Navy in early 1941 and was converted into an escort carrier, the Japanese aircraft_carrier Taiyou (大鷹, "goshawk", lit. "big eagle"), which was the lead ship of her class of three escort carriers. In Kantai Collection Taiyou is often represented with a green hakama_skirt, whie Kasuga Maru wears a red one.
