Now Viewing: takanami_(kantai_collection)Tag type: Character 高波 Takanami is the Kantai_Collection personification of the 6th of the Imperial_Japanese_Navy Yuugumo_(Kantai_Collection)-class destroyers, Takanami. Her name literally translates into "Tall Waves". She was introduced in the April 2015 update. Takanami has a personality that is lacking in confidence. Her verbal tick is "かも" ("kamo"), which usually means "maybe". The homophone "kamo" (written "鴨") can also mean duck, if an artist is up for some puns. She is often shown with ducks or duck-themed alternate clothing for this reason. This verbal tick is shared with Akitsushima_(Kantai_Collection), who was introduced at the same time. Takanami has short_hair, green_hair in a bob_cut with a notable long payot, and the sides of her hair are braided. She has brown_eyes. Like her sisters, she wears a long-sleeved white blouse under a maroon sleeveless_dress. When moderately or heavily damaged, it is revealed she wears a yellow_bra sports bra with red stripes. She also wears grey pantyhose on her legs with white-and-brown lace-up_boots. Her combat gear (machinery) includes twin torpedo-launcher turrets strapped to each thigh, and a hand-held turret with twin cannons. Carried on her back like a backpack is her mast and smokestack, with a platform on a swing-arm carrying a pair of smaller secondary turrets. She has an alternate remodeled art, with a more self-assured expression on her face. Historically, Takanami was a very short-lived ship. (In fact, she is the shortest-lived ship in the game.) Completed on August 31st of 1942, she was sunk just three months later, on November 30th, during action at Guadalcanal by the American heavy cruiser USS Minneapolis while trying to torpedo the Minneapolis.
