Now Viewing: senketsuTag type: Character A super-powered living sailor uniform referred to as a kamui from the anime series Kill_la_Kill with a demonic looking appearance. Despite its sinister appearance and name, which means fresh blood, it becomes Matoi Ryuuko's most important ally. Feeds off of the blood of the show's heroine Matoi_Ryuuko when worn to lend her his power for battle, transforming from a simple uniform into a sexy and revealing outfit that exposes her butt and part of her breasts. When wearing Senketsu, Ryuuko's nipples are covered by a pair of suspenders. Although the outfit reveals much of Ryuuko's body, it functions as an armor that can deflect many attacks although Ryuuko can still be harmed by stronger attacks. Ryuuko is initially embarrassed by how much of her body is exposed which hinders her ability to use Senketsu to its fullest potential as her embarrassment causes Senketsu to suck more blood out of her body, reducing her stamina. After she starts to think of Senketsu as a second skin, her body merges with Senketsu complete with an elaborate transformation sequence, and she becomes far more powerful and can engage in much longer battles. It is intelligent and can only speak to Ryuuko and is apparently the only Kamui capable of speech. It is referred to as male despite being clothing and the invention of Ryuko's late father. However, he speaks with a masculine voice. He also has no memory of his past other than the fact that he was created by Ryuuko's father. While none of the other characters can hear Senketsu speak, they are aware that Senketsu is sentient and can see Senketsu moving around on his own. Besides Mako, Senketsu is Ryuuko's best friend. Senketsu is very noble and self-sacrificing in personality and always puts Ryuuko's well being as his number one priority. Senketsu shares a theme song with Ryuuko, "Before my Body is Dry," which usually triumphantly plays when Ryuuko and Senketsu are about to win or when they do something particularly impressive. The rap portion of the song performed by David Whittaker represents Senketsu. He also has his own theme song called "Suck Your Blood" which is performed by Benjamin Anderson with lyrics written by mpi. It also narrates the next episode previews of the series and does so in a fourth wall breaking fashion by speaking as if it is talking directly to the audience. While Senketsu is normally calm in personality, its next episode previews are very animated in delivery. Voiced by Seki_Toshihiko.
