She became a precure purely by chance. Shirayuki Hime was given a Crystal of Love by Blue and told to find herself a partner. Not knowing what to do with the crystal, Hime randomly threw it into the air and decided she would partner with whoever the crystal hit and the crystal happened to hit Megumi. Megumi, for her part, willingly accepts her new job as a Precure and befriends Hime. Megumi is a cheerful and friendly girl who dreams of being able to spread happiness to everyone around her. She feels happiest when she can see others are genuinely happy as well. This is one of the reasons she is willing to go out of her way to help others and why she easily accepts being a Precure. She also wants to cure her physically fragile mother who is Megumi's biggest inspiration. Megumi takes to the job quite well and Hime's partnership with Megumi turns out to be beneficial for Hime. While working with Megumi, Hime becomes more effective as a Precure and she gradually grows more confident in herself. Megumi likes fashion, but Hime feels that Megumi's default way of dressing isn't good enough for her standards and Hime takes it upon herself to dress Megumi up in more stylish clothes. Although Megumi is not the 'singing Precure,' she often sings to herself. Her seiyuu Nakajima_Megumi, who also has the same first name, is well known for her singing career.
