English title: A.D. Police Files

A.D. Police Files is a three-part original video animation (OVA) produced by Youmex and animated by Artmic and AIC. It's a spin-off of the Bubblegum_Crisis series. Due to the legal conflict between Artmic and Youmex, the production of the OVA was stopped with only three complete episodes made.

Chronologically set before the events narrated in Bubblegum Crisis, it tells about AD. Police inspector Leon McNichol's early days in the AD. Police when he was a mere officer.

Nine years later the production team decided to use the world view/ background of the original A.D. Police and fleshed it out a bit more, making an animated series consisting of 12 30-minute episodes. By updating the storyline as well as adding more updated elements of reality that have to do with the coming of the new millennium, the makers of the new A.D. Police series sought to create a series that surpassed its predecessor. This TV series was titled A.D.POLICE (Pronounced as Advanced Police or just AD Police), known in English as A.D. Police: To Protect and Serve. The tag for the TV series is AD_Police.
