It is a rare type of revolver called the "automatic revolver," meaning that with one pull of the trigger, the cylinder turns and the hammer is cocked. The term "automatic revolver" is not to be confused with the term "automatic weapon," in that an automatic weapon can fire multiple times with a single trigger pull whereas an automatic revolver can still only fire once. In firearms terminology, the Mateba Autorevolver is considered a semi-automatic weapon.
