It is a 2017 super robot action anime film animated by Toei_Animation. It was directed by Shimizu Junji and written by Ozawa Takahiro. The soundtrack was composed by Watanabe Toshiyuki, the son of Watanabe Michiaki, the original series' composer. Mizuki Ichiro returns to sing the theme song for the film. The film was released on October 28, 2017. The film is set after the events of Great Mazinger. Dr. Hell and his Mechanical Beasts have finally been defeated and the world is at peace. Kabuto Kouji has retired from being a mecha pilot in order to be a scientist and his love interest Sayaka is now the director of the Photon Research Institute. One day, Kouji and his fellow researchers stumble upon a new Mazinger mech buried in Mt. Fuji. They also discover an unusual teen girl in the mech who they dub Lisa. Lisa is 91% organic AI, meaning she's an android with the ability to feel emotions like a human and can also link up with the Mazinger. Kouji takes her into the institute, but the era of peace ends when the supposedly dead Dr. Hell and his Mechanical Beasts begin invading Japan again. This time, Dr. Hell is after the the new Mazinger because its ultimate power is the ability to exchange one universe with another and Dr. Hell plans to get rid of the universe he hates so much. To save the world, Kouji must return to piloting Mazinger Z and work with his old allies to stop Dr. Hell.
