Now Viewing: zhong_lanzhuTag type: Character 鐘 嵐珠 A teen girl with long pink_hair that she ties with ribbons and grayish blue eyes. She was first introduced in Love_Live!_All_Stars_Festival as one of the original generation love_live!_nijigasaki_high_school_idol_club characters. She is a devoted school idol fan who was inspired to come to Japan from Hong Kong. However, once she arrives, she is disappointed by the school idols she encounters, particularly the Nijigasaki Idol Club, feeling that they don't measure up to her ideal of what a school idol should be. Zhong's vision of a school idol is more akin to a powerful pop diva rather than the more down-to-earth yet passionate and inspiring singers the Nijigasaki idols are. Zhong herself proves to be a highly talented performer and she's able to give the Nijigasaki idols serious competition when it comes to hyping up the audience. For this reason, Zhong decides to strike it out as a solo idol, with the help of equally talented songwriter Mia Taylor. Zhong is highly competitive and proud individual. However, this same quality also causes her problems, as she struggles to build positive and healthy relationships with others. Even her relationship with Mia is more business as opposed to the friendship the Nijigasaki idols share. As time goes on, Zhong steadily softens her stance on the Nijigasaki idols and begins to change how she approaches others and how she views school idols. While the character's basic motivations are similar between her original All Stars Festival appearance and her appearance in the anime adaptation of Nijigasaki, Zhong is notably less antagonistic in the latter, maintaining some level of respect for the Nijigasaki idols, even if she disagrees with their philosophy. She is voiced by Houmoto_Akina who is of Chinese and Japanese descent and also grew up in China, so she has experience speaking Mandarin Chinese and Cantonese like the character. Houmoto's bilingual abilities led to her getting involved with Love Live Superstar, acting as a mediator and language consultant for said season's new Chinese speaking character, Tang Keke.
