Now Viewing: ado_(singer)Tag type: None A female singer born on October 24, 2002 in Tokyo, Japan. Ado is her stage name, and her actual name as well as her physical appearance have not been publicly confirmed. In her videos and performances, she usually uses an anime avatar named Chando_(Ado) to represent her, and in live performances, she is always positioned and lit so that only her silhouette is visible. Her avatar is a slender dark-haired girl with highlights in her hair. Ado was inspired to become a singer after the Japanese video-sharing site Nico Nico Video was released for the Nintendo 3ds. Through her 3Ds, she was exposed to many cover singers who performed their song covers while never showing their face, and Ado decided she wanted to do something similar to them. Ado began singing as a cover song singer in 2017 when she was only 14. She debuted with Kimi no Taion on January 10, 2017, and in her early days, she would literally sing her songs in her closet. Ado notably made a big splash on the music industry very early on in spite of her youth. She made her professional debut under Universal Music Japan, with Ussewa, on October 23, 2020, which became one of her most famous songs. Her other songs became massively popular, each garnering millions of views on Youtube and topping multiple billboard lists. She worked on her first anime soundtrack with One_Piece:_Film_Red, where she is the singing voice for its female lead Uta. Unusually for One Piece, the score is built around Ado/Uta's songs, of which there are seven total. Ado was chosen as the second Japanese female Artist for YouTube's Artist on the Rise on June 11, 2021, and won Best New Asian Artist Japan for MNet's Mama. Ado is known for her wide vocal range, which she utilizes to sing songs in a myriad of genres. She often shifts between operatic vocals to rock-style gravelly growls within the same song. In 2024, she moved into producing for other artists alongside her solo career. She founded the horror idol group Phantom Siita, which debuted on June 26, 2024.
