It is a sci fi action western series created by a completely different cast and crew from the previous adaptation. It was animated by Studio_Orange in their trademark 3d animation style. It was directed by Mutou Kenji, written by Inamoto Tatsurou and Okashima Shin and Ueda Yoshihisa, and scored by Katou Tatsuya. The characters were designed by Tajima_Kouji. The first season ran from January 7, 2023 to March 25, 2023. This adaptation is more of a reimagining of the manga, and was designed to be accessible to newcomers. It retains most of the characters, themes, and plot beats from previous incarnations of the series, but numerous story elements are rearranged and characters are redesigned and tweaked to fit this new take on the series. Original creator Nightow Yasuhiro was also involved with this reimagining and gave his blessing to the final product. As this was the first adaptation to be made after the original manga's conclusion, it was able to include material from later portions of the Trigun Maximum manga that was previously unadapted.
