She is Tokino Sora's real life close friend and was with Sora when the two of them approached Cover Corp, then a tech company that had just made one game, with the idea to use the technology they were experimenting with to have Sora become a virtual youtuber. From that point on, A-chan became part of the hololive staff in a behind the scenes role. Although she was part of hololive since its inception in 2017, it took some time for her to appear onscreen and she technically isn't an official talent. Initially, she was just name-dropped by Sora or spoke occasionally while remaining off camera. On April 5, 2018, Sora made a simple doodle of A-chan's head to stand in for A-chan. From there, her appearances steadily grew, Within the same year, she received a full body design by amagai_tarou. She is a blue-haired woman who wears glasses. She wears the simplest costumes out of all the hololive members, either A black T-shirt with the hololive logo, or a dark blue jacket over a blue shirt and gray pants, with her staff ID hanging from her neck. She has a flat_Chest, which also makes her a frequent victim of hololive's recurring flat chest jokes. She presents herself as calm, responsible, and professional woman, acting as the face of the staff members within hololive, but she will play along with the talents antics during live events and occasionally lets slip some of her hidden quirks. She is bilingual, speaking both Japanese and English, and has a low pitched voice. As she's not an official vtuber, she does not have her own channel and generally appears on the main channel where she makes various announcements or comments on recent big events in hololive. In Holo no Graffiti, she acts as the beleagured straight woman to the hololive talents' wacky personalities and often ends up embroiled in their chaotic shenanigans. Even though she isn't an official talent, A-chan is a very popular and recognizable figure, which has contributed to her steadily making more appearances as her vtuber avatar during her time in hololive. After a run of nearly seven years, A-chan announced that she was retiring from her role as staff member at hololive on June 28, 2024. Her retirement took place on June 30, 2024.
