On January 20, 2025, Kronii's channel was suddenly hacked by cryptocurrency promoters who put out a stream promoting cryptocurrency. The channel was quickly restored before any significant damage was done but it gave Kronii an idea for her next stream. In her following stream after the crypto hijacking, she released a cryptocurrency parody where she shilled her new crypto coin, $Kronii Coin. This joke followed up on by fellow Hololive English virtual youtuber Mori_Calliope who did a fraud exposing video parody, which spoofed the style of legitimate fraud exposing videos made by Youtuber Coffeezilla.
